County Durham Care Academy launches jobs portal

County Durham Care Academy launches jobs portal

As part of our ongoing support to the adult social care sector, we have launched a new jobs site to promote social care vacancies in County Durham.

Recruitment within the sector can be challenging for social care providers with many keen to find more employees with the right skills to support with the growing need for social care service provision.

Our new site has been developed in close collaboration with the providers of commissioned care services in the county to provide a one-stop shop for those looking to either begin or develop a career in the sector.

Many of our County Durham based commissioned social care providers have the opportunity to promote and fill their vacancies across the same, shared platform, offering job seekers a single, easy to access digital place to find and apply for social care sector job opportunities.

The site launched on 6 June and as well as job opportunities, includes information on a comprehensive range of advice, guidance and flexible free training from the Care Academy to help even those with no experience in the sector find a new, fulfilling role in adult social care.

The site is launching in a phase approach with around 10 providers of home-based care initially uploading their vacancies onto the platform in the first phase of development.

The Care Academy works with around 300 local care providers and more employers from the social care sector will become active on the site as the roll-out continues.

The Care Academy is working closely with a range of commissioned social care providers in County Durham to promote take up and use of the new jobs site and has provided support for using the new platform, including populating job vacancies on the new site.
