  • Delivering varied, nutritious, and appetizing menu options for our residents, considering special dietary needs and allergens.
  • Retaining records for inspection purposes.
  • Supervising a small team of kitchen assistants.
  • Liaising with approved suppliers to ensure efficient delivery of products, in line with company policy and procedures to maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Food Safety Management & COSHH, cleaning rotas, to ensure the regular cleaning of all kitchen areas, equipment and appliances to meet the high standards of cleanliness necessary in food storage, preparation and service areas.
  • Practicing safe systems of work across the range of tasks in line with Food Safety Management, by assessing risks and having due regard for personal safety of residents, visitors and team members.
  • Adhere to confidentiality at all times
  • You must be aware of: a) Health and Safety at Work Policy b) Fire Regulations and Procedures used in an emergency situation c) Dangers in a kitchen environment d) Reporting of incidents/accidents in the kitchen/storeroom.

Person Specification:

  • At least 3 years experience cooking in a commercial kitchen/care setting
  • Experience of modified diets
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands, and prioritize tasks.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Satisfactory DBS.
  • preparation of the cooking and serving of delicious and nutritious hot and cold meals,

Essential qualifications:

  • Level 2 food hygiene certificate
  • S/NVQ2 in catering or hospitality
